Dungeons Graveyards Dark places. ReDeads are recurring enemies in The Legend of Zelda series. They emit a high-pitched scream and freeze Link in his tracks. While Link is frozen, they grab hold of him, and drain his health. A highly similar enemy, called a Gibdo , has appeared in many Zelda games.

ReDead Knights appear as elite Captains alongside Gibdos. They often appear fighting alongside enemy hordes. Their special attack involves screaming while releasing a shock wave around them or a wave of noise, which stuns any opposing Warrior, including infantry troops, who are caught in it. Once stunned, they will then attack their enemy with their Swords. Their screams, however, also leaves them vulnerable to attacks as it exposes their Weak Point Gauge. They also have an additional attack which causes them to glow briefly before spewing a poisonous miasma around them, similar to Deku Babas. When charging this attack, they expose their weakness to Arrows , which will cause them to expose their Weak Point Gauge and spin around, damaging their allied units if shot at while glowing.

An even simpler way, however, redead to just shine light on them using the Mirror Shieldwhich defeats them instantly, redead.

Their design used in the Super Smash Bros. They are zombie-like creatures who normally remain stationary or move around sluggishly, but when they see Link , they release a high-pitched scream which freezes Link, allowing the ReDeads to latch onto him and bite him. ReDeads are usually found in the main area with the broken, floating platforms. Usually, there are about one or two ReDeads per platform. In other areas, especially in the tunnels connecting the map, they can be found in groups of three or four.

They first appear in Ocarina of Time, but despite their unambiguously zombie-inspired appearance and behavior, conflicting lore on the ReDead suggests fans may never be certain about the origins of these most mysterious creatures in the Legend of Zelda games. For fans of the series, this doesn't just mean that Tears of the Kingdom will ratchet up the scare factor compared to Breath of the Wild , but it also means another chance to demystify the origins of an iconic creature. When they first appeared in Ocarina of Time , the origins of the ReDead were fairly clear-cut. Their slow, plodding movement and lurching attacks created inevitable parallels to classic zombies, but there was also evidence that the ReDead were reanimated villagers from Hyrule Castle Town. When Link revisits Hyrule Castle after being awoken in the Temple of Time, the market is destroyed and populated by ReDead rather than the villagers that players found previously. The first appearance of the ReDead is one of the most disturbing moments in the Legend of Zelda franchise , but also seems to close the door to any discussion about the creature's origins. However, Super Smash Bros. Melee threw a twist into the origins of the ReDead.

While the latest trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gave fans plenty of new things to get excited about, it also appeared to show a classic enemy from the N64's Ocarina of Time.
