I invested heavily into two things: 1 Gizmos! In my case, I did loads of fishing, this got me lots of level 10 fishing rods, these disassemble for a lot of xp. So you should definitely consider this to cut costs. I wouldn't disassemble items for the gizmos until you need them, because as you level you unlock junk reduction which will save you money in the long run less waste when you disassemble items. So that's my advice: augment skilling items, and when double xp comes around disassemble them for huge xp.
