Whether you come along to an event, make a donation, volunteer, or foster an animal, you play a vital role in ensuring that we are able to continue helping animals in need in Canberra and the surrounding regions. You can get involved in a variety of ways, from becoming a member or a volunteer to donating money, taking part in fundraising events or joining our team of dedicated staff. Lend a hand at an op shop or a fundraising day, help care for animals in a shelter or take part in a sponsored event — every dollar helps. All candidates will be required to complete an application for the role they are interested in. Candidates may only apply for one role, however once accepted as a volunteer you may also apply for other roles internally. After this, volunteers will attend an on-site induction to help them understand their role and the location where they are volunteering, learn important health and safety requirements and of course, meet the team and animals! For most roles we ask you can commit to shifts of four hours each week or fortnight for a minimum of six months. Although some other volunteering roles are more flexible in their time commitment.
