If I shift my grip to where I can reach it, my trigger finger is now in position to tilt the muzzle left when I press the trigger. Using to hands to draw and release the safety is only barely better than having to rack the slide. My goal is to be able to draw, release the safety, acquire the target, and fire, and to make it seem like a single, fluid motion. I carry a security 9 on occasions I really dont have problem with the manual safety but better to carry with safety off like a striker fire first pull is hard which acts as a safety. I know the security 9 is not a striker fire it actually has a hammer but it is quite safe with manual safety off. Good luck. When I first inspected it, I found it was really hard to get the slide stop to set, but was told it would loosen up with firing, and slingshot worked fine. After about rounds, it's easier to set the slide stop. But the problem is the slide "locks out" on last round.

I recently had the chance to test out the Ruger Security 9; while using it in various conditions, I did notice a few issues that could need some attention. Some of these were minor, while others might make you pause. During my time with this firearm, I encountered several Ruger Security 9 Problems that seem to be common among users. One of the first things I noticed with the Ruger Security 9 was a tricky situation with the slide. Yep, it got stuck in the backward position. This snag appears to be caused by extra material under the steel slide-stop lever. The outline on the frame itself is the culprit here, hindering the lever from completely dropping down.
