For example, they can acquire Rune Arcs from the Volcano Manor mission , where the goal is to assassinate specific targets. I was almost through my first run when I found out those have a use. The person who is getting rune arcs gets summoned to kill the tree sentinel and repeat that over and over again. I don't understand what these Rune Arcs actually do. There's also a secondary effect where whenever your summons trigger the Bleed status effect on an enemy, they get a damage boost, making it more likely they'll kill. Lastly, online might be a good way to farm Arcs but online will someday be shutdown. This is where things get complicated.
