Tristan is deeply jaded and dangerous! The writing was easy to get into. Also the banter between her and Tristan?? That's their only connection, this idea they are both "dark" people From the very beginning nothing in the writing stood out to me as specific imagery pointing to the s, so I think the setting is sort of a moot point. Lord have mercy on us mere mortals and on lazy clits everywhere. The more bloodshed the better. This gave me fantasy meets dark romance with a little bit of spice.
