Our Miniature Schnauzer story, began decades ago. Our first Miniature Schnauzer was a little guy named "Romeo" whom we brought into our lives in Needless to say, we were hooked immediately. A year later, we purchased a female Miniature Schnauzer companion for Romeo. From there, our adoration for the breed quickly grew from Schnauzer parents to Schnauzer breeders. We spent countless hours researching the breed standards and developing relationships with Champion kennels. Subsequently, we had our first litter of Miniature Schnauzer puppies approximately 23 yrs ago.

Miniature Schnauzer Rescue of Houston, Inc. MSRH , is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization sponsored entirely by donations. We do not operate a shelter. Most of our dogs reside in loving foster homes, until they find their perfect forever home. Others spend time in a veterinary clinic for treatment, if needed, and a few may be kept in boarding where they can get training due to social issues. Many of our dogs come to us healthy. Others are sick or injured. They may come to us from shelters, from the streets, from puppy mills or from owners who cannot, or will not, care for them any longer. In almost all cases, at least in their recent past, they have not felt the security of a loving home. Our goal is to ensure these fine dogs get healthy, never again face life in a dangerous situation, and instead live in a safe, loving, and secure home for the rest of their lives. Schnauzers entering the rescue program may come from abusive surroundings or from owners who have neglected them. Other dogs picked up by animal control officers can also become candidates for rescue.
