However, the acclaimed movie has since been adapted into a stage musical , and the nostalgia for the Sister Act franchise has reached a fever pitch in the '80s and '90s-obsessed s. This means the time has never been better for Sister Act 3 to finally happen. Though years have passed since the sequel was announced, the latest update comes in the form of a disappointing Tyler Perry update on Sister Act 3 's script. The filmmaker has been the spearhead of the project since it was first revealed, but the Madea creator has expressed his frustration with its lengthy timeline.
