The quest involves Faendal and Sven trying to win over Camilla Valerius through somewhat underhanded means. This quest can be started either by skyrim camilla to Faendal, the Bosmer archer located at Riverwood's lumbermill, or by speaking to Sven, the Nord bard found in the town's Sleeping Giant Inn. Both men will ask the Dragonborn to deliver a false letter, supposedly written by the other's rival, to Camilla who lives in the Riverwood Trader, skyrim camilla.

If Lucan is killed, she will take over the Riverwood Trader. Two men in Riverwood vie for Camilla's attention— Faendal and Sven. The Dragonborn can play a part in which of the men she chooses by getting involved in the quest " A Lovely Letter. Faendal will still visit Camilla, even if she is living with the Dragonborn in another city. When the Dragonborn first enters the Riverwood Trader, they will see Camilla arguing with Lucan about the theft of the golden claw. When offering to retrieve the claw, Camilla will ask Lucan if she could accompany the Dragonborn to Bleak Falls Barrow , which he denies, but he says she can accompany the Dragonborn to the edge of the town. The Dragonborn need not wait for Camilla, but if they do she will give him directions, and then return to the Riverwood Trader.

If Lucan dies, Camilla will take over the store. She is involved in a local love triangle as the love interest of both Faendal and Sven. She may be married if her disposition towards you is high enough, giving you full access to the Riverwood Trader. She wakes up at 7am for a one-hour breakfast, then starts working at the store for ten hours. At 6pm, she heads to Sleeping Giant Inn for a drink and chats with other patrons. She stays there until 10pm, when she goes outside for a walk around Riverwood. She returns home at 12am to sleep. She wears a belted tunic and a pair of boots.

When you visit the small town of Riverwood, the local beauty, Camilla Valerius, has sparked the interest of two bachelors in town. The local bard, Sven, and the wood elf hunter Faendal, are both vying for Camilla's favor; and will resort to slander and libel to win it. If you approach Sven first, at the Sleeping Giant Inn , you find out about his love for Camilla, and about his suspicions about Faendal's involvement in her life. Sven will then ask you for a favor: deliver a fake letter supposedly written by Faendal to Camilla, seemingly breaking things off with her due to her being an Imperial, and he a true-born elf. Or you may speak to Faendal first. He can be found near the lumber mill chopping wood or wandering the village. Faendal also has feelings for Camilla and a desire to see Sven out of the picture. He asks you to deliver his own fake letter designed to disrupt Sven's wooing by outlining out the household chores he has planned for Camilla. With either letter, you can go straight to Camilla, or show the supposed letter to the other man prompting them to hand over their own forged letter for you to deliver. When you decide who you want to help, either Sven or Faendal, deliver the letter to Camilla.
