The 28mm F2 is a special lens in the Sony line up : it supports the addition of 2 specific converters that change its focal lenth. The lens is well built, lightweight and discrete, the AF is quite fast. The focusing ring is large and pleasant to use but there is no hard stops for the minimum focusing distance or the infinity. There is no distance scale neither. Chromatic aberrations at 21mm F2. This 28mm F2 has a well deserved place in the trio of small prime lenses together with the 35mm F2. This sharpness is excellent at the center although it require to stop down a little bit if you want very good corners but this will not be an issue for landscape photography. At F2 as you rarely focus in the corner , relative softness at that place is not a real issue.
