Innovation in the caravan realm is exciting, and the unveiling of Spinifex's brand spinifex caravans reviews 48V Safiery electronics system is no exception, spinifex caravans reviews. Back in the early nineties, there was a song by German dance group Snap! When I found out I was reviewing the new Nomadix Premier from Spinifex Caravans that featured its brand new 48V Safiery electronics system, I couldn't get that song out of my head — luckily for me I only found out a couple of days before the review.

We run dozens of caravan reviews every year here in Caravan World , and on most occasions, the vans are stock models from the dealer yard or straight off the production line. But with this impressive big Spinifex, we spent a day with the owners in southern Queensland to discover what led them to Spinifex and their travel plans. Spinifex is a dedicated custom offroad builder based in Deception Bay, north of Brisbane. It has manufactured vans since , and the one on review is number , so it has a vast knowledge of what works in rough conditions. This low-volume builder takes pride in getting things right so that warranty issues are minimised. Sometimes you just want to get away to a quiet little spot where the rest of the world can just roll by. You know the sort of place — your own slice of heaven where you just get to be happy with someone special where nobody and nothing can bother you. With that in mind, we picked up the high-end Spinifex Caravans Nomadix Premier and took it to a nice and easy spot within the lulling sound and sight of sleepy Pumicestone Passage, whose tide rolls lazily between the Sunshine Coast and Bribie Island, just north of Brisbane. This particular van had already been purchased by a happy buyer, who was waiting to collect their rig, so a rough-and-tumble trial was not on offer. However, we still poked around the outside to see what would make this impressive off-roader worth considering. First up, the Nomadix Premier range is available in sizes between about 4m and 8m. The review rig was 20ft 6. You should be able to live in total comfort away from civilisation for up to two weeks in this refined machine. Wrapped around the fibreglass, aluminium-framed walls is powder-coated aluminium armour — the drawbar-mounted storage box is fabricated of the same material. The underside of the van is extensively protected as well. Up front, Spinifex Caravans has mounted two 9kg gas cylinders on the drawbar, flanked by two jerry can holders.

Finding an adventure is about taking the journey as much as it is about arriving at the unexpected destination. With that in mind, I was keen to see if the Spinifex Xscape has all it needs to turn any adventurous journey into a wonderful memory. Spinifex Caravans has gained a reputation of producing sturdy products; the Xscape is no exception. From the ground up, it certainly has the stuff that a would-be caravanner should expect from a van that will take them to many of the far-flung corners of the continent. However, there is nothing entry level about it, at least not in terms of spec level or build quality. Rather, when Spinifex says this caravan is entry level, it means in terms of its range.

Spinifex have made a name for themselves building grunty, offroad beasts. But, this new offering looks to fill a gap in the market. Times change, and sometimes so do the directions and approaches of a company. Take Queensland caravan manufacturer, Spinifex Caravans, as an example. Back in early when I visited and reviewed the EpiX Premier, Spinifex were building big, heavy, fully customised offroad vans that needed a big, heavy 4WD to tow them.

The all-electric Electrex lives up to its name — there is no gas and a massive power supply which gives this offroader remarkable self-sufficiency. Owner Steve isn't a fan of caravan parks, so when he puts pen to paper for his own custom vans, he goes all out. The proliferation of American trucks continues at a pace even against a background of electric vehicles gaining in popularity. I could get used to that. Also, the custom-made kitchen drawers that are designed to fit appliances. The storage box contains two slide-out trays, one either side, and a small but usable tool tray above. Great service. When it comes to getting a good night sleep, the quality here is fine. Well done! As you can see, when it comes to being self-contained in remote areas, this van has a great deal to offer. The perfectly rendered interior is a pleasant surprise for a go nearly anywhere van. A bigger kitchen and spacious lounge which you use a lot more versus a tight gap that you may only go through a couple of times a day at most. Need I say more. You cant go wrong with a Spinifex. That nice combo of a bamboo bed and leather upholstery really hit the mark.

We all dream of it.

Plenty of under-bed storage supports a pocket spring mattress on a slatted lift-up bed base. There is an Oyster automatic satellite system with a Vast Box that will allow you to catch up on the State of Origin match or other essential sporting or movie event, even in the most remote outback. This would certainly be very comfortable accommodation for a couple of kids. This is a particularly good quality awning with three curved rafters to ensure no pooling of water when it rains. Handcrafting also allows complete customisation of the cabinetry layout and design. The attractions of home, family and work whilst positive and rewarding did not seem to waylay a restlessness we both felt in terms of enriching and fulfilling our lives as we come toward the inevitabilities of our senescence. We knew this was what we were searching for and represented all the qualities that met our needs both in the caravan and the people building them. With a Tare weight of kg and an ATM rating of kg, the Xscape offers kg to account for water, food, your gear, etc. Nothing seemed to be a problem for Spinifex. However, there is nothing entry level about it, at least not in terms of spec level or build quality.
