By the time Trunks Brief is born, the timeline has been altered by trips to the past by Future Trunks and Future Cell. Therefore, the two Trunks have completely different lives as opposed to those who live before the time machines arrive — they live the exact same lives as their counterparts up until the point at which the two timelines diverge, three years before the Artificial Humans arrive. Trained by the alternate timeline's Gohan , Future Trunks travels through time to seek help from Son Goku to prevent the Artificial Humans from ravaging the world like they did in his dark future. Future Trunks is a loyal and uncompromising warrior, but can be slightly cocky at times.
