Licence manager wworks fine. Download assistant works only after a restart and then will not open more than one time. Cubase and Wavelab are stuck on searching for licences. I had the licences on USB but they moved to the new licence system ater a windows reinstall wish it had a def name and now they cant be retrieved. So Cubase and Wavelab arent usable. Support ticket unanswered.

The Download assistant and the older manual installation method for Pro 5 kept reinstalling the SE version, which has an indistinguishable Dorico 5 shortcut. It took me ages to find out, only by Googling, that you also need to go into the Activation Assistant to activate the Pro version once you have used SE. As a result, I failed to finish a due composition last night. My instinct, not to bother with this new version due to the complexity of getting Steinberg stuff actually working, now seems justified. Dorico Pro, Dorico Elements and Dorico SE are actually all the same application, and determine what features to enable based on the license you have. When you buy an update from Dorico 4 to Dorico 5, you receive a Download Access Code for the update itself in the sales receipt from our online shop. Dorico 4 can run with a Dorico 5 license. I believe I did all this in the Download assistant. Certainly, it was offering me Dorico 5 Pro. But thanks for explaining that they are the same software package. I am trying to license a computer lab with 16 individual multi-user seat licenses. Are all of your devices running admin or user accounts? If running user accounts you may need to install all the Steinberg software on these devices using admin rights.

Everytime I launch Dorico 4 on my desktop running on Windows 10, Steinberg Activation Manager asks me to activate my license. And indeed, my Steinberg web profile says that Dorico 4 is not activated on any computers, despite the fact that I tried to activate it several times already. As you can see from the timestamps in the screenshots in his thread, the incorrect user directories were quite old, so I suspect it is not Dorico that is creating those incorrectly-named users, but it does look like Dorico might be confused that they are there. I wonder if there was once a Windows bug that generated those directories. Also, can you let me know what exact version of Windows 10 you are using, as far as language is concerned? We can certainly try creating a user with a non-Latin username, but it may be that the result will depend on the OS as a whole.
