There are rumors going around that a fusion of Lapis and Peridot will be introduced in the new episodes of the series, which is still on hiatus. Many fans are under the impression that she will be the voice behind a fusion between Peridot and Lapis. It is believed that the two have grown so much closer that it is enough to beckon a fusion. Although the two started on the wrong foot, they managed to warm up to each other and grow fond of one another as they spend more time at the barn, which they share. In fact, "Steven Universe" season 4 episode 8 "Gems Harvest," shows the two starting a new hobby — farming — to liven things up and give the barn extra life and color, which they meant literally. Fans believed that Lapis and Peridot have developed a certain level of friendship that qualifies them to have a fusion and that "Steven Universe" season 4 will show what it will look like.

She officially became a member in " Message Received " after she defied her Homeworld superior, Yellow Diamond. For some time, Peridot lived in the barn with Lapis Lazuli , but began residing in the Crystal Temple after Lapis fled the planet with their home in " Raising the Barn ". Peridot has lime-green skin and pale chartreuse yellow hair styled into a tetrahedron shape. When she blushes, it is green. Her true eye color is dark green, which is usually tinted by the yellow color of her visor.

Curiously, she is familiar with the scent of citrus fruit despite her general ignorance of Earth. Although Peridot pretended it wasn't to try and fail to get past the height requirement for a rollercoaster.

First, you need a gem at the core of your being. Then you need a body that can turn into light. Then you need a partner who you trust with that light. Fusions are formed when the participants are emotionally harmonious with each other. This state can be spontaneous, but it is usually achieved deliberately through a synchronized dance. When Gems fuse, their bodies and minds become one. This creates an entirely different entity, as opposed to two minds sharing a single body. Fusion will cause the creation of a new Gem; however, this does not necessarily mean that this Gem does not already exist. A fusion of multiple types of Gems is referred to as a Gem type other than those of the components. Existing non-fusion type Gems will look different to that of a fused Gem.

Steven starts to empathize with them and says that they don't deserve to be treated like this Jasper's hatred meanwhile leads her to choose corruption instead. I'm living here! This may also be the case for the other Diamonds as well, as she called them "flawless beings" in "Message Received", but praises Yellow Diamond the most as she called her "the most perfect, the most reasonable, rational, efficient decider ever to exist in the universe. She avoids the normal fate of starter villains by having a Heel—Face Turn and getting a Redemption Promotion to important secondary character. Prone to temper tantrums? Evil Laugh. Die for Our Ship. Vague Age : Her comments in "When It Rains" indicate that she's one of the youngest Gems seen in the show, having not been around for the war Amethyst emerged soon afterwards and ignorant of the identities of the Crystal Gems until she met them. In "Reunited" Peridot is greatly surprised to see Lapis return and runs to her, asking if she's really back in disbelief. By the present, her defining fascination and love of Earth and its inhabitants — even human culture, which even sympathetic Gems tend to dismiss — has become reminiscent of Rose herself. Garnet must have squeezed her really hard in "Catch and Release". Peridot has shown an obsession with objects and entertainment, all of Camp Pining Hearts and has a love for things with alien symbols such as boxer-shorts, and stuffed animals. She is this to Lapis, as Peridot makes it her job to keep the ocean Gem happy no matter what happens. Even her voice sounds robotic at first, but it gets less so when she gets riled up. Blood Knight : One of the very few examples of one not naturally good at fighting. However, this quickly changes when it is discovered that she has latent ferrokinetic powers with which she made the most out of her time at Funland with Steven and Amethyst.
