Strictly Come Dancing has officially unveiled its lineup of celebrities. Waterloo Road actor Mark Benton and one half of the Hairy Bikers Dave Myers will also be aiming to impress with their best silky moves.

Susanna Reid, the co-host of BBC1's Breakfast programme, who will also take part, said the other contestants "already looked like pros" and complained she was "aching in places I've never ached before" after beginning training for the show. Now into its 11th series, Strictly Come Dancing has become one of the BBC's most important entertainment shows and its most reliable ratings winner, with last year's final watched by a peak audience of 14 million viewers. But it remains to be seen if it can hit the highs of last year, which was boosted by the presence of London Olympics medal winners including Victoria Pendleton and its eventual winner, the back-flipping gymnast Louis Smith. Sporting stars have a history of doing well on the show with ex-England cricketers Mark Ramprakash and Darren Gough among previous winners. Bruce Forsyth, 85, will return to present the show but there will be one significant difference, behind the scenes at least. The programme, which was previously filmed in the BBC's Television Centre in west London, has temporarily moved to a new home in studios in Elstree, north London, after the controversial sale of Television Centre. It will return to Television Centre once the studios there have been refurbished.
