There are only about 80 sites. The entire park could be walked in less than 20 minutes. There are a variety of sites, some of which I would consider to be the worst sites I have ever seen at an Ontario park:. For some reason, that I do not understand, they have located the trailer sanitation dump station directly in the middle of the park. It is on the side of the camp road between 2 outhouses directly across from sites 49, 51 and Sites 50 and 54 are on either side of the outhouses. These sites have a front-row view and smell of every trailer and RV that is dumping their grey and black water tanks. They are the most poorly located sites I have ever seen at an Ontario Park. Personally, I would avoid them at all costs. As for the rest of the sites, it is hit and miss.

This is an older park with less than campsites wi Tip for Other Campers: The park is about 20 minutes to any kind of supplies so be sure to bring what you need.

While it is not a large provincial park, there are 81 campsites and 4 cottages available for rent, it features a natural sandy beach and has a boat launch for canoeing and boating. Apparently it is an excellent area for fishing. Sturgeon Bay is located just off of the Trans-Canada Highway 69, so we decided to make a detour here on our way home from Chutes Provincial Park to break up the 4. We arrived at the park just after 12p. For a Sunday afternoon it was busier than expected. But I guess with scorching hot temperatures and its close proximity to Toronto, being near and in the water is one of the few ways to tolerate the heat warning. We were able to use our parks permit from Chutes to enter Sturgeon Bay. Apparently a park permit from one provincial park is valid at any of the other provincial parks in Ontario something new we learned on this trip. We parked near the beach area and changed into our bathing suits. The shoreline of the beach area provided a nice mix of sun and shade.
