The popular Manchester chain confirmed all four sites across Greater Manchester would be closing at the end of December, but hinted that they would be returning under another guise in the New Year. Now, it has been revealed that all four of its sites will home a new pasta concept called Rigatoni's. Aiming to bring 'quality pasta to the masses', owners say they'll be serving up 'hearty' bowls of pasta for less than a tenner.

All four Sud Pasta restaurants in Manchester will close at the end of the year as the team prepares to launch a "new pasta project". The group said it has become "impossible" to maintain its offer "without reducing the size or cutting a shed load of corners". Owners had teased a new city centre location in recent weeks, and will now take over one of kitchens at the recently launched food hall and bar. The brothers, who draw from their southern Italian heritage, then opened a second restaurant in Ancoats and a third in Sale last year.
