Nivara's Lesson in Commonality is the second quest in a series of main quests the player receives shortly after arriving to Nel'Vari. In order to combat the darkness spreading throughout the Western Region, the player accepts some lessons from Nivara to bolster their stats and learn more about the elven village. During this quest, Nivara asks the player to improve their relationship with prickliest resident of Nel'Vari and understand their point of view.

Quests are set objectives that provide rewards when completed. They're kept track of in the quest journal, which is located on the fourth tab of the Escape menu. The journal displays all currently active quests, displaying the title, description, and requirements of each quest. You may cancel a quest by clicking the 'X' in the top right of each quest. Main quests are a series of quests the player must accomplish in order to complete the core story of the game. The player can choose not to do any of these quests, and just focus on farming, fishing, or any of the other typical farm sim activities. However if the player does not continue the story, they will not unlock the additional regions of Nel'Vari and Withergate. Every day the bulletin board in each city will have randomly generated tasks that the player can accept and complete in exchange for currency and experience.
