It has all the basics I needed at a very reasonable price. I was able to get a good distance across the lake effortlessly. Handles on both the front and back allow you to carry or drag the kayak with ease and it is light enough for one person to carry. The included paddle is more than sufficient for us recreational types. Spent a total of 8 hours floating down the river. The seat is very basic with no padding for the seat. Once you have dragged it to the beach, the drain plug helps get most of the water out but depending on how loaded the kayak is, this can be a slow and tiring experience. Very happy I bought two of these for lakes and Connecticut River in Vermont.

Overall, this is a fabulous starter kayak. Drawbacks: We found depending on when the Kayak was made there are 2 cockpit sizes differing by 6" in length. The Sun Dolphin Aruba 10 is a nicely-priced introductory kayak. There is definitely less plastic used in the construction of this boat, which helps keep its weight low, but it can't carry as much weight as some of the other kayaks do. This makes it one of the most portable boats we tested. I originally had the Atwood skirt on but it kept popping off; just too tight across the front. Oh and you will want to bring a cushion.
