I have a Carchar trapped on official 1x. Will one dead giga baby enable me to jump on it straight away vs a baby rex? And do you think I can tame it by killing the wilds in the desert on Crystal Isles or do I have to breed Diplodocus to pull the last stage off? Thanks in advance. Who knows???

The Carcharodontosaurus is the latest addition to Ark: Survival Evolved, and it is one heck of a creature. While not as big as the Giga, or as sturdy looking as the Rex, the Carcharo is one of the more terrifying creatures in the game. This might be because it has blood dripping from its maw or the sheer ferocity and force with which it attacks. The Carcharodontosaurus, or Carcharo, is perhaps one of the better land-based creatures for offensive play-styles. It has a passive ability that will cause something called a Blood Frenzy, this will increase the speed and Melee damage of the Carcharo to a total of x2. There is a ten-second speed buff that is independent of this counter. The Carcharo can be found in several regions, but reliably so at the edges of the Snow Biome on the Extinction map. You can only tame the Carcharo in a non-violent way. If you have high-tier Ghillie Armor you might be able to get close enough to drag corpses to the Carchar without it wanting to munch you. The second method is to trap it. You can achieve this by placing your Large Bear Traps on the ground, allowing time for them to open. Immediately place the Metal Gates around the Carcharo as tightly as you can.

In order to create Dinos that are still draggable but have a high species drag weight, tame carcharodontosaurus, we will use Baby dinos.

Taming a Carcharodontosaurus requires a specific taming method unlike any other creature, which can usually simply be knocked out and fed meat. Carcharodontosaurus can be found in the mountains on The Island in Ark: Survival Ascended and are most easily located on the volcano. However, this can create problems with taming as they are dangerous areas that are full of other aggressive creatures that will hunt you, or get into a fight with the Carcharodontosaurus itself. Make sure you have plenty of armor for protection and, ideally, a high-level carnivore tame for protection. Carcharodontosaurus has a unique taming method in Ark: Survival Ascended and, unlike the majority of other carnivores, cannot be tamed via violent knock-out methods. Instead, you must kill other wild creatures and drag the corpses towards the Carcharodontosaurus to gain trust. Therefore, I advise clearing the area of any carnivores that will eat the kill you are presenting, particularly as most of these have bodies that cannot be dragged by your Survivor anyway.

You can only tame the Carcharo in a non-violent way. In the wild, Carcharodontosaurus will mercilessly roam the lands, killing everything it sees. Only dinos with several thousand health give additional progress, but those also will take longer to kill, so generally you're best off in areas with many small dinos and just rack up as many kills as you can. This will begin a short window of time in which you are allowed to ride and command the wild Carcha, before either taming is completed, or you are bucked off second initially. Survivors utilizing tamed Carcharodontosaurus may use its Tail Whip attack which boasts great knockback to even the largest creatures. If the battle you're going into doesn't have enough fodder to fuel Bloodrage; multiple Carchas can create a diminishing returns problem, while the raw damage of a pack of Giganotosaurus would have maintained optimum output in contrast. GrumpyBear Posted November 29, Perhaps the most important thing to consider that isn't immediately obvious; while Gigas possess rage mechanics that make them even more devastating in large numbers, Carchas are instead more effective in singles or mated pairs. Lastly, its Killing Frenzy and Bloodrage mechanics grant additional damage, health regeneration, and speed bonuses for every kill the Carcharodontosaurus gets. The Shredded debuff will be applied on an enemy once it gets bitten by the Carchar but not killed. First, you need to carry the corpse of a dino near it. GrumpyBear Posted April 29,
