Morrowind , previously named Dwemereth , Veloth , Resdayn , and Dunmereth , is the province in the northeast corner of Tamriel , and the home of the Dunmer. It is dominated by the large island of Vvardenfell and its centerpiece, the ash-spewing Red Mountain , but also includes territory on the continental mainland. The Inner Sea separates Vvardenfell from the mainland, and the Sea of Ghosts lies to the province's north. It is bordered by Skyrim to the west and Black Marsh to the south. For more information, see the main lore article. The Duke of the Mournhold District is also King of the entire province. In practice, though, this feudal organization set up by the Empire must compete for power and influence with the older Dunmer clan system of Great Houses. To a limited extent, each district roughly corresponds to the historical zone of influence of a Great House, but this is not a practical definition. Jump to: navigation , search. Tamriel Rebuilt commonly abbreviated as TR is the largest collaborative fan-based modding project for the Elder Scrolls series, with the goal of creating the mainland of Morrowind. Tamriel Rebuilt currently covers all of northeastern Morrowind and much of the eastern and central part of the province, with the latest release adding the remainder of the Aanthirin region. Future development will focus on the southern portion of the province, including the fungal forests of Othreleth Woods and Coronati Basin , and the winding canyons of Shipal-Shin. The project has existed since before Morrowind ' s release, though the leadership and members have changed many times since then. A collection of province mods, Project Tamriel , shares assets with Tamriel Rebuilt through Tamriel Data , and they are meant to complement each other. Since the original Telvannis release, Tamriel Rebuilt has maintained the tradition of creating a promotional splash for each major landmass release.

The northeast of Morrowind's mainland spans the land owned by the Great House Telvanni, including the faction's capital, Port Telvannis. TR had lost a lot of manpower and those devs that were left found themselves dispirited. Following Old Ebonheart was Bethesda left behind the philosophy that gave birth to Morrowind years and years ago, and I can't blame it. But I still love Morrowind, and knowing that there's so much more of it to come—even if it's not from the house that Todd built—is a great feeling. USA Today. The Old Ebonheart release marked a turning point in TR development, with a deeper focus on forward planning and quality control. Great House Telvanni Isolationist in the extreme, the Telvanni have moved as far from the rest of Tamriel as they possibly could. It's got this melancholy to it that really sucks you into the vibe and the density of the lore and the world-building is so brilliantly intriguing… The fan base being so dedicated to expanding on that despite all the years is the cherry on top to me.
