The groom room pets at home
Due to ongoing health issues we will not be grooming large Poodles, large Poodle crosses or large breeds requiring clipping.
I've not needed to bath my puppy yet.. I brush her daily double thick coated Eurasier but having been out in the mud and rain a lot she's got an air of swamp about her now! She's a timid dog with people on walks but I don't have good facilities at home for bathing her and wondered if it would be better to take her somewhere to have a bath, but don't want to terrify her! Are they any good, especially for a first time bath she's 5 months now.. I should have started when she was tiny but had no idea how to do it! My pup seemed to get on ok there for the first time, but the problem is you can't see what's going on as they tell you to leave. We use a groomer that comes to the house now so he's in his home, he is used to one person, we can see what's going on and know he's had no negative experiences.

You do have to book quite far in advance at ours though, as they are usually VERY busy. The lady who used to groom him has recently retired, so that is why I am trying to find a kind and 'gentle' replacement She was never unhappy when she realised where she was being taken there and seemed happy and chilled out when I picked her up. I only stopped taking her there because I was getting a bit peeved at the head groomer telling me off for any tangles and knots she had, she went a bit over the top in my opinion and with a service industry customers are unlikely to want to be lectured.
Ah yes Floral you have reminded me that I have seen a few places where they are behind glass but not where you can actually stay with them. A good groomer, will build a good lasting relationship with you and your dog. Like you, I have a Bichon.

I work up to 70 hours a week so the main reason for taking the dog to a groomers is because I sometimes don't have the time to do it myself She died while I was away on holiday, my mum pops in to feed her while I am away and she called me to say she couldn't find her. I thought I made it clear that the groomer was exaggerating. I brush her daily double thick coated Eurasier but having been out in the mud and rain a lot she's got an air of swamp about her now! Why the hell do some people on here want to take any remote opportunity to put others down. What I do make sure I do though is to brush her coat regularly to keep it tangle and knot free. The salon I work at now has "puppy intros", where we give the dog a good brush through, trim round the feet, eyes and bum, and will do things like put a dryer on them without bathing them just to let them hear it and get used to the sensation. We would also turn on a set of clippers to let them hear it and feel the vibration without cutting the hair. I don't neglect the pup. If you're worried about your pet's health, please speak to a vet or qualified professional. Sam is fantastic and it's the best grooming my beautiful dogs have ever got. I complained to a senior manager but they did nothin about it. I'm not leaving her! But anyway, dont let the fact that it's a big chain put you off. Book now. Has anyone used Pets at Home Groom Room? Also do you need to book in advance, or do you just turn up and wait? I brush her daily double thick coated Eurasier but having been out in the mud and rain a lot she's got an air of swamp about her now! OP posts: See all. Lurcherlad Replies. I thought I made it clear that the groomer was exaggerating. Watch thread Flip. I don't think that reflects on my ability to style a dog's coat? Important questions to ask are: do you trim nails, so you empty anal glands and do you clean teeth? I should have started when she was tiny but had no idea how to do it! My dog started having a fear long story but due to other experiences of the table and hair dryer but because he went to the same person they recognised the issue and tried to work out what was wrong and gained his confidence again. What I do make sure I do though is to brush her coat regularly to keep it tangle and knot free.
