Many things can change at MovBeans, but one thing will always the horde 2009 constant - Our love for Zombies. But these last few years have been bit of a tumble for zombie genre.

So The Horde is a wilfully ugly film, confronting the viewer with repellent characters who are difficult to tell apart, in both appearance and behaviour, from the monsters attacking them. Of course, we are well used to seeing fast-and-furious zombies 28 Days Later… , the Dawn of the Dead remake not to mention zombies in tenements the original Dawn of the Dead , [REC] — and the living dead have been wedded to social commentary ever since George A.

In Paris, Oussem heads a police unit in a raid on a criminal base in a condemned apartment building. The operation goes wrong and ends in a shootout with one of the officers wounded. While the gang holds them at gunpoint, they are attacked by a frenzied man who devours the flesh of the living. They become aware that the city outside the building has been overrun by a zombie horde. Oussem proposes a deal to the gang leader Adewale — that the two groups put their differences aside for the sake of mutual survival and making an escape to freedom. Agreeing, the group makes their way down the various levels, which places them into the midst of a ferocious pitched battle against the zombies. The Horde was a French variation on the numerous zombie films that came out following the successes of 28 Days Later , Dawn of the Dead and Shaun of the Dead Yannick Dahan and Benjamin Rocher had previously paired up on the hard-edged gangster shootout film Rivoallan , which this acts as a sequel of sorts to ie. Without Yannick Dahan, Benjamin Rocher went on on his own to make the highly amusing Goal of the Dead , which combined zombies and soccer, and the non-genre action film Antigang The Horde is reasonably effective at what it sets out to do.

So, to reignite my love for this genre, I went back to a French cult classic movie - The Horde a. I am not kidding when I say this movie was very hard to find, I spent days trying to find this movie on online streaming platforms but then it turned out, it was available on YouTube for free all along and I felt like such a fool. Anyways, The Horde is a French zombie-action movie with a huge emphasis on the word ACTION, because that's all you will get from this movie - intense adrenaline filled action sequences. This movie just excels in terms of action, probably contains one of the best zombie actions in the cinematic history. But if the action of this movie is a high point, then to balance it out, there are some low points too. If this sounds cool to you, then you are not wrong, it is indeed cool and plays out really well. The cop-criminal aspect makes up for some interesting dynamics.

Penned in like animals, on the top floor of a deserted high-rise, these two opposing gangs find they're not alone in the lair of bloodthirsty zombies stalking the corridors of death. Joining forces to survive, they must reach the ground level together or perish. Loaded with a bad ass attitude, guns, axes and extremely creative hand-to-hand combat need to survive, being caught up in the wrong place at the wrong time.
