I grew up in the Waukon area. I now live 3 hours away. Every chance we get, we come back just to have the best Friday night fish fry. I have never had anything better! The Old Rossville Store is definitely worth the drive!

Review by: Michael Stern. The Old Rossville Store is a classic midwest supper club serving the rural farming community of Waukon in remote Northeastern Iowa. A separate room for dining in has serious old school character. All meals include salad bar, and not just an ordinary salad bar, but one that offers marinated carrot salad, cottage cheese, pea salad, macaroni salad, potato salad, tomato salad and even chocolate pudding and strawberry ambrosia — all homemade. However the salad dressing unfortunately is not. The chop itself is char grilled, thick and juicy, but does not have an overwhelmingly oinky flavor. We have a solid start to my quest.

We also have be invited to large banquets serving people and the food is amazing. Great fresh salad bar, fabulous broasted chicken, perfectly prepared prime rib and cod on Friday night is the best around. Last but not least our hats off to Todd and staff, service is excellent and food is always hot and Rod ads, he pours a good drink - all at affordable prices. Love this unique place on the Mississippi River.

The ample salad bar has a variety of homemade salads and relishes. While others rated them lower than I on atmosphere, I liked the "old store" feeling and felt it was in line with the community.
