This book is part of a five-volume series on Barenziah :. Five hundred years ago in Mournhold , City of Gems, there lived a blind widow and her only child, a tall, strapping young man. The real barenziah

This is the original, volume version of this book that appeared in Daggerfall. It includes a notorious passage that was censored in subsequent Elder Scrolls games. The change from 10 volumes to 5 volumes was accomplished by combining books rather than deleting material, except for the one censored passage regarding Barenziah's sexual encounter with a Khajiit. In fact, the later editions are more detailed than the Daggerfall version in some sections. The explicit passage included in these books is not as gratuitous as it may first appear. This book was introduced in a Daggerfall quest , in which Barenziah was being blackmailed over the as yet unpublished contents of this book. Given the book's continued appearance in the Elder Scrolls games, Barenziah was apparently not successful in suppressing the book's publication, but given that in Tribunal she is known to have protected the author from any punishment derived from it and her making him an assistant of her, she might have not had that intent at all.
