But when Triangle Strategy received a free update over a year past its premiere, strategy role-playing game enthusiasts took notice. What was Square thinking? It turns out, Square was thinking some pretty cool things. Triangle Strategy's 1. This is the most surprising addition, especially since Triangle Strategy's various endings felt pretty definitive already. There's closure enough, or at least enough that few really complained about it, but if you fall in love with the game's excellent cast, it's always fun to see more of a good thing. That's basically what this 'Extra Chapter' is - more of a good thing. The free epilogue content is exclusive to Serenoa's route , also known as 'the golden route'. As the scales of fate would have it, we've got a guide on how to do just that. Since Serenoa's route is the true ending , or rather, the ideal ending, it makes sense that the writers would focus on it more over the other three potential paths. You'll access the Extra Chapter via Triangle Strategy's main menu screen. It will only pop up there upon completion of the Serenoa route, and amazingly enough, it's a solid minutes worth of new cutscenes that offers finality to plenty of recruitable characters and the main stars of House Wolffort, of course.

Players are in for a treat as they dive deeper into the intricate world of tactical strategy. Switch players can now relish the immersive storytelling experience even further with the newly added Character Story replay feature. This feature allows them to revisit the captivating tales of their favorite characters, gaining a fresh perspective on their journey and unraveling new layers of the narrative. Additionally, the Story Battle replay feature enables players to relive epic battles, allowing for strategic refinement and the chance to master every tactical aspect of the game. This intriguing addition provides an immersive extension to the main story, delving deeper into the lives of the characters and offering fresh challenges. I really wanted to love this game, but having a retro inspired game and then completely covering the artwork just drives me crazy. It had too much story to get through before I could play for a little bit and then a ton more story after.

The patch notes on Nintendo's website via Gematsu reveal that a brand new epilogue-like chapter, called 'Extra Story', has been added. This is reportedly a final epilogue cutscene that takes place after Serenoa's route, so you need to have completed that at the very least in order to see it. Not only that, but this update also adds a Character Story and Story Battle replay feature, allowing you to revisit battles and cutscenes throughout the game. Plus, there are the usual additional fixes with all of these patches. The PC patch notes go into a bit more detail on the "issues", supposedly some of these are PC specific, but you can check those out over on Steam if you're curious.

Geez, it feels like it only just launched a few months ago. Or at least, that's what I say about any game in that pile when I'm reminded of them and not picking up a cheap game on a deep sale instead. Got about half way through. You are about to leave the Nintendo of Europe site. Played this game to death at launch. There's never been a better time to pick up Triangle Strategy. Still a bad name but sounds a touch better.
