Daydream Island Resort has suffered a lot of negative press lately and so we approached our visit with some trepidation. International visitors to Australia particularly will love the local wildlife, with the local population of rock wallabies hopping around all day. That said, there is definitely room for improvement in places. Rooms have recently been refurbished but some of the resort is looking a little tired. I believe that a few small tweaks could make some big improvements in some areas. All in all though we were blessed with good weather and had a lovely time with good friends here.

Daydream Island Resort in the Whitsundays reopened in April after an extensive redevelopment. There has been a lot of travel industry chatter about the new Daydream Island and its family-friendly and eco credentials. So last month, while holidaying on Hamilton Island, my husband Adam and baby daughter Evie and I headed over for a day trip to check out the re-vamped resort. Welcome to Daydream Island.

The girls who served us did not treat us happily. The resort is very dark at night and pretty hard and scary to walk from one room to the other which is so far away!!! Save time, save money!
