As of right now, many of the main heroes such as Piccolo, Vegeta and Goku get absolutely incomprehensible jumps in power during this part of the show, which is in large part based on Frieza's power and how they must compare to his power in order to challenge him. I will be making a few assumptions to make this sensible: If we don't actually have a scouter reading of a person's power, such as Vegeta's 24, when he's powering up against Cui , then that power level is an estimate, and the "official" numbers are really open to interpretation. Scouters don't always get a character's true power and are unreliable Frieza is a known liar. He lied to Vegeta about keeping his father alive, lies to Gohan about Goku dying and begging for his life in tears, among many other lies and exaggerations of powers. As Vegeta himself even states when Frieza boasts his power level of 1million in his 2nd form, "don't believe it, that's impossible, even for him! Because Frieza's power levels such , in 1st form are only stated by him, and never read by a scouter by another character, we can take some liberties with these numbers and assume Frieza is lying and exaggerating as he is known to do, and not have to abide by these numbers which inflate all of the power levels for the rest of the series to an absurd degree. Without further ado, here are my personal interpretations of the Namek and Frieza saga power levels: Vegeta: Versus Cui, Versus Daboria- 27, Versus Zarbon- 30, Zarbon first form- 26, Zarbon 2nd form, Vegeta steadily gains power as he battles Frieza's henchmen and the namekian warriors, reaching 30, by his first encounter with Zarbon. Zarbon is confident he can beat Vegeta, despite the seeing his Power Level was 24, before, not realizing he has been steadily increasing in power as he's been battling on Namek.

After the early Namek saga things got weird with pls and I'm glad they were dropped. Goku stated he lost a lot of his fighting power creating it.

His goal is to no longer surpass Goku but instead his son Gohan. He defeated the duplicates Gryll created but let his guard down and was absorbed by the Duplicate Gryll, draining him of all his power and abilities and transferred them into a duplicate that formed. While waiting for Goku to arrive on Earth, Goku even asks if Vegeta if he was the one who defeated Frieza possibly implying that Vegeta may have reached Super Saiyan. Also, with a power level any lower than this, Piccolo wouldn't even be able to assist against first form Frieza at all. It's only weakness is that it couldn't be maintained for long. But it makes sense. Afterwards the two of them were beyond weakened and could barely carry their own body weight. He also beat Magetta as a Super Saiyan, though being greatly pressured and at a lost because he was engulfed by massive amounts of heat, he charged up to full power and shattered through the dome that trapped the heat, and opened fire a Final Flash and an insult that ended the fight. But when Frieza transformed to his second form, he realized an enraged Gohan and Piccolo had a better chance at Defeating Frieza than he did. This allows Vegeta above to actually be able to hold his own against first form Frieza with a very high but at least reasonable , Frieza's 2nd Form, , maximum after powering up more Frieza lied here about 1 million, in fact he just skipped his first form entirely when stating his power, as this is ACTUALLY the form with , Lastly, the last powerup is, by the manga at least, a sudden on-the-spot powerup.
