The show followed the story of a college football team, the Blue Mountain State Goats, and their antics on and off the field. The main character of the show is Alex Moran, played by Darin Brooks. Alex is a second-string quarterback and a party animal who is more interested in having fun than playing football. His best friend and roommate, Sammy Cacciatore, played by Chris Romano, is a backup linebacker who is equally as wild and carefree as Alex. He struggles to keep the team in line and often finds himself in sticky situations due to their antics. Throughout the series, viewers get to see the Goats compete on the field and face challenges off the field.
