Having prescriptions filled at the WAMC Outpatient Pharmacy is convenient and provides a cost savings to beneficiaries. The pharmacy fills all prescriptions without a co-payment and medications are provided at no cost to beneficiaries. The WAMC formulary is extensive and carries most medications. If patients do see an off-post specialty provider and receive a prescription for a medication not on the formulary, there are processes in place to allow patients to get these medications from the pharmacy, also without a copayment. Patients may also have prescriptions filled off post transferred to the WAMC pharmacy as long as the medication is formulary, not expired, and has refills available.
