Most of his Normal Monsters have low ATK , but he supports them with Magic Cards such as " Horn of the Unicorn " to raise their strength, while also maximizing his more powerful monsters' potential through cards like " Burning Land " and " Makiu, the Magical Mist. The Deck also had " The Forbidden One " cards in it, which he used in the first episode to defeat Kaiba, but Weevil Underwood threw them overboard on the ship to Duelist Kingdom, and Joey Wheeler was only able to recover two of them, so Yugi abandoned Exodia. Both have have only been used when cooperating with Seto Kaiba and Joey Wheeler , respectively. His Deck also includes more control cards that allow him to manipulate an opponent's cards, such as " Change of Heart ", " Lightforce Sword " and " Mystical Refpanel ". He also included several cards he had formerly used in Duelist Kingdom, but not in Battle City.

Kia ora! This week's Episode Deck is one I've wanted to do for a while: Yugi's final deck for his duel against Atem to send him to the afterlife. After the defeat of Zorc, the time had come to send the Pharaoh to his final rest through defeating him in a duel. Despite knowing he would have to say goodbye to his closest friend, Yugi rose to the challenge and accepted the responsibility, ready to begin living his life without Atem. His ideas had been key to defeating Pegasus and Yami Marik, and he'd stood on his own against Yami Bakura, but a duel against Atem would be his greatest challenge. Although Yugi had several cards he and Atem had used over the years, he chose to use a new deck — the deck he'd used against Yami Bakura in the Memory World. Key to this deck were the Silent monsters that could level up their ATK and his most powerful monster which defeated Yami Bakura, Gandora the Dragon of Destruction , but in the end Yugi would defeat Atem with the strongest message he could send: negating Monster Reborn with Gold Sarcophagus to tell him the dead did not belong in the world of the living. In the anime, Yugi also made heavy use of the Magnet Warriors against Atem. Their ability to separate and combine into Valkyrion the Magna Warrior proved key to defeating the three Egyptian God cards.
