TranZit has an interesting reputation among the CoD Zombies fan base. While it was widely regarded as the worst Zombies map ever released for a long time, zombies tranzit, many have recognized the potential that the concept had. The zombies tranzit technology of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox meant that Treyarch was unable to recognize the grand vision it had for the map and was forced to implement annoying elements like fog, resulting in a visually unappealing map that was tedious to traverse.

TranZit functions like any other Zombies maps aside from the size of the map and some of the new utilities. A new feature, buildables , allows the player to pick up parts and construct certain items, which offer useful mechanics to aid the survivors in game. Examples include the Pack-a-Punch Machine ; a new Wonder Weapon, the Thrustodyne Aeronautics Model 23 commonly referred to as the Jet Gun ; a turbine-like handheld power source; an electric trap; an improvised automatic machine gun turret; and a Zombie Shield, the Zombies variant of the multiplayer weapon, the Assault Shield. The player can also add upgrades, such as ladders and plows, to the bus to aid them by preventing zombies from breaching the bus, or allowing access to the bus roof. Two new types of enemies appear, the Denizen and the Avogadro.

Zombies tranzit

Nine areas of the map don't have any Denizens spawning, however. Five of them are known as bus stops, and four of them are found in between stops, usually requiring the player to get off the bus and run through the fog to reach the location. Another obstacle is the lava, which when stepped on causes little, but fast damage towards the player, and when any enemy steps in it, they will ignite on fire and when killed, will explode, also giving damage to anybody in its vicinity. For Denizens, it will give damage to the player while latching on. Lava is found in the majority of the map, and in some cases, block off certain areas and prevent players without Juggernog or Stamin-Up to reach certain locations by simply walking. The map's boss enemy is known as the Avogadro, and it only spawns after turning on the power for the first time every game, as it is seen in the Power Station being trapped in a capsule before being released. It can teleport from place to place, being invincible at the moment, and will shoot out electrical projectiles that cause electrical damage to the players only, and at this moment, the enemy is vulnerable to only melee attacks, unless a player uses an EMP Grenade, which instantly kills it. A player can knock off a Denizen by stabbing it five times, three times with the Bowie knife, or twice with the Galvaknuckles but another Denizen will attack soon after. The Fog is a result of the missiles hitting the Earth at te end of the Moon Easter Egg, which destroyed the Earth and spread Element around the Earth, resulting in the Zombie Apocolypse.
