In the 40 Hour Teacher Workweek Club, Angela Watson gave us a list of things that we can accomplish to reduce stress when we return to school in the fall. One of those things was to make a list of all the activities we had for each unit we teach.

Angles Relationships Vertical, Supplementary, Complementary, Linear Pair, Perpendicular, Angle Bisectors Math Lib In this activity, students will practice finding missing angle measures using common angle relationships. Students must have an understanding of vertical angles, complementary angles, supplementary angles, linear pairs, perpendicular lines, and angle bisectors. Angles given as algebraic expressions along with verbal descriptions are also included. This activity was designed for a high school level geometry class. The answer to each station will give them a piece of a story who, doing what, with who, where, when, etc. This is a much more fun approach to multiple choice, and the students adore reading the story to the class. They get very excited to see which of their teachers is the "star" of the story. All slides are given in an editable format so you are free to personalize the story for your students. PowerPoint is required to edit. Only story elements can be changed, not the actual problems. If you have already purchased this resource, please redownload for the update.

Physical education. Together we are going to use our knowledge of Angle Addition, Adjacent Angles, Complementary and Supplementary Angles, as well as Linear Pair and Vertical Angles to find the values of unknown measures.

In Geometry , there are five fundamental angle pair relationships:. Both of these graphics represent pairs of complementary angles. Both of these graphics represent pairs of supplementary angles. Adjacent angles are two angles in a plane that have a common vertex and a common side but no common interior points. And as Math is Fun so nicely points out, a straightforward way to remember Complementary and Supplementary measures is to think:. A linear pair is precisely what its name indicates.

Vertex on a circle and chords as sides, and whose measure equals half the intercepted arc. An inscribed angle is an angle with its vertex on the circle and whose sides are chords. The intercepted arc is the arc that is inside the inscribed angle and whose endpoints are on the angle. The vertex of an inscribed angle can be anywhere on the circle as long as its sides intersect the circle to form an intercepted arc. The Inscribed Angle Theorem states that the measure of an inscribed angle is half the measure of its intercepted arc. Inscribed angles that intercept the same arc are congruent. This is called the Congruent Inscribed Angles Theorem and is shown below. An angle intercepts a semicircle if and only if it is a right angle Semicircle Theorem. Anytime a right angle is inscribed in a circle, the endpoints of the angle are the endpoints of a diameter and the diameter is the hypotenuse.

In geometry, there are many types of angles such as congruent, adjacent, vertical, corresponding, alternating, exterior, and interior angles. All angles have relationships to other angles and those angle relationships are what we will cover here. Beyond measuring the degrees or radians, you can also compare angles and consider their relationships to other angles.
