To make some sense of Courtney and her motives I have made a theory about her untold backstory. Most people act the way they do because of how they were raised. I believe her mother was a cold, judgmental, workaholic law firm owner who treated Courtney as a project rather than a daughter. And of course Courtney adopted this mentality. And when she failed her mother stuck it to her big time. I imagine her father being even worse of workaholic and was almost never around. He showered Courtney with gifts to make up for it.

She seems to learn her lesson, as she doesn't get into the bottom two until her elimination in TDI She is seen as somewhat volatile, seeing as in TDI11 she convinced her teammates to vote off Sadie only because Sadie made a mistake in the WIlliam Tell challenge. This seems to set off a chain of karma, being that Courtney is eliminated due to her unfair actions towards Sadie, followed by Harold being eliminated in TDI13 due to getting Courtney eliminated. Courtney was initially not eligible for Action. She was a commentator in the aftermaths until TDA13 where she rejoins the competition and is put on the Killer Grips.
