I've been using create-react-app in conjunction with lerna repos and for the most part its been an awesome experience. The one issue I've been seeing is when trying to issue lerna run test commands to test all packages that have a "test" script. Since create-react-app defaults to entering watch mode on test, it hangs.

I propose adding a new command working name build-dev which watches for changes and rebuild the bundle effectively, given the current CRA implementation, it should execute webpack --watch , then writes it onto filesystem. My concern: the concept of a dev server is already confusing to many people and I've seen countless issues from people trying to find dev server output in the filesystem, adding scripts with hrefs to local files, when they didn't need it. So I'm worried introducing this feature is useful in some advanced cases but might make everything more confusing in simple cases for people who mistakingly start with build-dev instead because they haven't seen a dev server before when dev server is exactly what they need.
It does not necessarily need to be named App. Jest will always run all tests on a continuous integration server or if the project is not inside a Git or Mercurial repository.

Jest is intended to be used for unit tests of your logic and your components rather than the DOM quirks. We recommend that you use a separate tool for browser end-to-end tests if you need them. They are beyond the scope of Create React App.

Even though many helper extensions exist out there on VSCode to address the "dot-dot-slash recursive hell", the relational paths are painful to write if you have a folder structure with multiple layers. You may see some projects that are using absolute paths, and it looks cool right? So, why not?
