All I can find are explanations on how to do it, not what it actually does. I get you can get money from machines, but no idea on why I would use it on an enemy. It's been awhile, so my memory of it might be iffy, but iirc, it mainly makes it cheaper to perform quickhacks on them. Also if you have certain quickhacks equiped, then it adds new options after doing a breach protocol. Like I had a certain hack equiped, and I could set it so that whenever I was noticed it would hit them with a blind effect.

I am using Legendary quickhacks only and I confirm that pinging alerts enemies. It seems that regardless what perks you sue on your cyber deck they always get alerted when using ping nowadays, was it a problem or intended change?
