Confidence Man is a quest that can be obtained within the Commonwealthin Fallout Vadiman owner of Diamond City 's Dugout Innis looking out for the local radio jockey.

There are two ways to start this quest. Either speak with Travis Miles at the radio station in Diamond City and then subsequently overhear a conversation about Vadim Bobrov looking for someone to help him regarding Travis, or overhear Vadim telling a story to Hawthorne while in the Dugout Inn , then re-enter the bar and speak to Vadim. Both these events will trigger the quest to start. Speak to Vadim at the Dugout Inn. Regardless of the chosen response, the conversation ends with Vadim stating that Travis could use some confidence to improve his radio show, then asking the Sole Survivor to help. If they agree, Vadim can be pushed to offer caps through three speech checks of increasing difficulty and amount. Whether or not he is successfully persuaded, Vadim reveals that he is going to stage a bar fight that night and requests that they return after 6 P.

First time you enter, you will overhear Vadim telling a story to a man named Hawthorne. After this conversation, leaving and re-entering the bar, you will pick up the quest by talking to Vadim. Follow Vadim to around the corner, once he arrives in the kitchen area and stops moving, talk to him again and he'll tell you he wants you to help his friend Travis in a bar fight. You can convince Vadim to pay upto caps with speech challenges. Vadim asks you to wait til after 6pm for Travis to arrive. Once Travis arrives, you will see a man named Bull talking with Travis. Talk to Travis and tell him you'll help him in a fight. When the fight starts, defeat Bull in a fist fight. Once the fight is over, talk to Bull, then he will complain, and then runs off. Talk to Travis and he'll be excited about what just happened.

It's not much of a fight, and the result will set Travis on the path to higher self-confidence.

At some point before settling in Diamond City and setting up the DCR station, Travis apparently traveled to the Capital Wasteland where he met the radio DJ for Galaxy News Radio , Three Dog and interacted long enough that Travis came to consider him an "old friend" while learning about his philosophy to "fight the good fight".
