General zod

General Zod is a disgraced Kryptonian military leader who attempted an insurrection, resulting in his imprisonment to the Phantom Zone. In modern depictions, general zod is portrayed as having a grievance with the House of El.

General Zod General Zod full name Dru-Zod is a fictional character, a supervillain who appears in comic books published by DC Comics, and is one of Superman's more prominent enemies. Just as the El family is a staple among the Scientist guild of Krypton, the Zod family is a staple of the Military. Generations ago Zod's ancestor and namesake, Admiral Dru-Zod, once led the Military Council, in power before the Kryptonian Science Council came to rule, and Krypton to the head of a large empire that scoured galaxies. The Kryptonian Navy would be dismantled, with the exception of Dru-Zod's ship which would haunt Superman later. The military was delegated to peace-keeping tasks on Krypton, and the Zods continued to serve. Months before the destruction of Krypton, Jor-El convinced his friend, mentor and intellectual peer Non that their planet was indeed doomed. The word of two of the most respected scholars of Krypton was not enough to sway the Council, whose only action in the matter was to forbid any further talk on the subject.

General zod

General Dru-Zod is a former Kryptonian military general and an enemy to Superman. Exiled to the Phantom Zone by his people for treason, he survived the destruction of Krypton and swore revenge against the son of Jor-El. Though the House of Zod was traditionally a house of warriors, Dru-Zod was the son of a pair Kryptonian scientists. One day, his family took on a scientific expedition to Krypton's wilderness where they were attacked by dangerous animals. After his mother was killed, Zod's father urged his son to escape. He does so, killing his father in the process to distract the creatures and give himself time to flee. For over a year, Zod managed to survive on his own until being found and rescued by Jor-El and Zor-El. By adulthood, Zod became a distinguished soldier in the Kryptonian military and became concerned with Krypton's violent neighboring alien species, the Char.

General Dru-Zod of Krypton is one of the rare Superman villains who became much better known after appearing in a movie than from his original endeavors in the comics.
