I do not feel like I am a woman. I just like to wear their clothing. The only times that I went out in public as a girl was when I wore a costume for an event and the time I dressed as a girl for Halloween. The first outing was when my friend asked me to dress as a pregnant woman for an event he was in charge of. There were several people in different costumes.

In fact there are crossdressers that only dress at this time a year. For those that dress more frequently, Halloween is a great time for you to try different looks, especially ones you may be too shy to try during the rest of the year. Some girls will go totally opposite of their normal day to day femme look. If you are a casual girl, you may want to go really fancy. A ball gown or princess outfit may be a fun change of pace. With some imagination and a split between items you may already have and a few purchased items, you can be ready for that Halloween party in no time. Remember, anything can be a Halloween costume with a little fake blood and brushed out wig. If you have knee high socks and heels, you can order a cheerleaders dress on its own and save a few dollars.

On the other hand, whenever I attended a trans Halloween event like a support group Halloween party , I dressed in a costume that a woman might wear on Halloween. For example, for my support group's past Halloween parties, I dressed as a school girl, Marilyn Monroe, Jacqueline Kennedy, French maid, bat girl and Playboy bunny, among other things. I dressed in a costume a woman might wear because in the trans world, I normally dressed as a woman. I could have dressed in a costume a woman might wear for civilian Halloween events, but I never have. Like many of us, my first forays in public en femme were on Halloween. Just dressing as a woman among civilians was a major accomplishment and the thrill of a lifetime of anticipation. In theory, dressing in a costume a woman might wear rather than in office girl drag might result in fewer knowing looks that imply that I crossdress more often than just October But I always femulate too well, not like the average guy in drag on Halloween, so I got lots of those knowing looks no matter what I wore.

After renting a movie, my wife and I drove around a little and then went home. I went to a store and openly admitted that I was shopping for a dress for myself for Halloween. She knew what was going on. Halloween came. They looked at me and that was it. It was stressful, but I managed to handle it. She knew it was not just a costume, but she did not mention it then or later.
