Wilfred "Wilf" Mott is a recurring fictional character in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who , played by Bernard Cribbins. A believer in extraterrestrial life himself, Wilfred was proud of his granddaughter's adventures and helped to keep them a secret from her overbearing mother. Donna Noble is a fictional character in the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who. Originally appearing in the closing scene of the show's series and as a special guest star in its following Christmas special, " The Runaway Bride ", Tate was not expected to reprise her role as Donna; for series 3 , the Doctor travelled alongside medical student Martha Jones Freema Agyeman.
