My goals: Drive ability combined with kickass trail capability Plans at this point: Long arms, Fenders, Regearing down the road, and the proverbial question; are 37's really that much better then 35's? I know this question has been addressed a million and five times but I just want to here from guys who either who made the jump to 37's after having ran 35's or vice versa. Yes, I know some say they add little to no strength, but it is what I chose to do for my Jeep. I also put the Yeti system in, with stronger drag link and tie rod. People claim to be worried about the clamps. I had to trim the stock Hard Rock front skid plate, but other than that, I have had no problems.

JeepJeep 12 Replies. Some people don't jk on 37s a problem, some just won't stop! Most JK's are simply overbuilt due to the drivers not have much off road driving skills which goes a long way so they overbuild the jeep to compensate.

The consensus in the JK world is that much modification is needed, even on the JK Dana 44 front axle, when stepping up to 37's. Is the same true for the JL or are the redesigned Rubicon Dana 44 axles beefier in all the right places thus eliminating the need to modify them for 37's?

Modified JK Tech Dept. Brakes — The factory brakes really need to be upgraded when you cross the 37 threshold. But I know there's several members here that are running simiular set ups, that could help. PS the extra periods do not mean I am confused, I'm just thinking. Over the years, larger and larger tire sizes have become the norm. Years ago with the Wrangler TJ, many people were running 33s on their Jeeps on some pretty difficult trails.

If the recon44 is what it says, then I believe the tubes and C's have been strengthened to some degree. The one on 35's is going to be more reliable and cheaper to run and maintain.
