Medusalith Amaquelin was born to Quelin and Amburwho medusa comics both members of the Inhumans. Quelin was the brother of Ryndathe wife of King Agon. Because of that family connection, medusa comics, Medusalith was considered a member of Attilan's Royal Family.

The character has psychokinetic control over her hair, a power she obtained through Terrigenesis. With this power, she can extend her hair to double its normal length, using it to pick locks, lift objects, and contain objects and people. She appears in Fantastic Four 38, and in various subplot glimpses from The Inhumans also appear in Fantastic Four 82—83, with Medusa.

Medusa's parents elected to expose her to the mutagenic Terrigen Mist when she was an infant; the process endowed her with hair she could animate like added appendages. Medusa readily agreed and filled out the evil foursome as they tried many times to embarrass and defeat the Fantastic Four. Soon, her cousin Gorgon appeared and chased her along with the Human Torch, who she had forced to help her. A fight between the Human Torch and Medusa awakened the imprisoned Dragon Man , who associated Medusa with the Invisible Girl , who had previously been kind to him.
