After working in product development, retail, and design for several decades, Sherri Coates realized how dodgy the beauty industry was. T he pair committed to doing the research and providing nontoxic, eco-friendly products and services. For years, she climbed the corporate ladder at department store chains and textile companies. While traveling around the globe, Coates realized how beauty products were really made. In her spare time, Coates self-educated. The like-minded retail marketing and design professionals met at a trade show. When they decided to pursue a joint venture in the luxury beauty industry, the idea came naturally to them. Both were aware of the many harmful ingredients used in everyday personal and home-care products and set out to find a safer solution for a nail care concept.
