The Torpedo System is an Upgrade Module for the Seamoth that arms it with the ability to launch torpedoes. The Torpedo System is crafted using the Vehicle Upgrade Seamoth torpedo system and must be applied to the Seamoth upgrade panel to function.

The Vortex Torpedo's payload is a small whirlpool that causes creatures to be pulled in and unable to move freely, similar to the effects of the Stasis Rifle. This can be used to immobilize aggressive creatures such as Stalkers , Sand Sharks , and even Reaper Leviathans , decreasing the player 's chance of getting attacked. When fired, the Vortex Torpedo will lock on to nearby creatures. If there is a Leviathan nearby, it will automatically lock onto it regardless of other nearby creatures. Subnautica Wiki Explore.
