IGN's Stray complete strategy guide and walkthrough will lead you through every step of Stray from the title screen to the final credits, and includes how to solve every puzzle, every Memory Location , and where to find all Badges. Stray is part platformer, part puzzle adventure where you take on the role of a lone cat in a strange decaying city full of robots and mysterious creatures. With an unlikely guide to help you, you'll have to navigate the Walled City's ruined streets and sewers, as well as charming slums and settlements in attempt to escape - with only your natural feline abilities to help you. Stray is divided up into twelve sections, listed as chapters in this walkthrough, which can be replayed at any point after they are unlocked, and each feature collectible Memories that tell the story of life in the Walled City. In addition there are also Badges to adorn yourself with by helping the residents of this cyberpunk city.

Silent protagonists are nothing new in video games, but Stray certainly pushes that concept to an interesting place. Part platformer, part traditional adventure game, this cyberpunk world full of neon-soaked robots transforms into a giant jungle gym from your perspective, which is just one foot off the ground. The concept of putting you in the paws of an average cat may be a silly one on the surface, but Stray uses that furry vehicle to tell a genuinely compelling story with some entertaining action along the way. Not all of its ideas land on their feet, but it was impossible to shake the fuzzy feeling it gave me right from the adorable opening minutes. At the same time, Stray revels in the fact that it has made you a cat. Your feline form brings a lovely and lighthearted flavor to this otherwise dark world, and there are moments all throughout that encourage you to set aside your responsibilities and simply play. This is a wonderfully rich world, one I really enjoyed learning all about. The beautifully designed city you have to make your way through is bleak without feeling pessimistic, full of history to learn and charming robot citizens to chat with despite the fairly dystopian situation around them. I talked to everyone I could, whether they were relevant to the story or not, and I loved seeing what their computer screen faces would display as I excitedly meowed around their feet, be that annoyance, surprise, or just a big heart.

The title allows players to control a stray cat, who is lost from its family. It also has a unique premise and setting, as players are thrusted into a futuristic world, which is filled with machines, robots and more. One of the robots that players will often interact with is B, which is a drone that accompanies the game's protagonist as a fellow companion and translator. With a third-person view, the gameplay mostly revolves around players solving puzzles, as the cat finds its way back to its original owners. Since it's an open-world game, players have the opportunity to stray no pun intended away from the title's main quest in favor of some exploration.
