The slide only has the six digit number. I got a chart today from Walther that lists the interarm dates of manufacture and the serial numbers. All begin with a letter then numbers. Is the letter considered the start of the serial number? If so, why is it not shown as such?

Prior to factory numbering both slides and framesthe method they chose was to inscribe those numbers inside the slide. As it has been stated "it doesn't get any better than this" it be nice to know if it ever was fired.

First the presence of the FULL serial number with K below on the right slide flat and serial numbered magazines on magazine spine with K below the serial and the number 1 or 2. I know that with the old format for this site there was a sticky done by 'Searcher' some years ago that reported serial numbers with dates indicated on the test targets. That said, the stickies seem to be gone as far as I can tell and my test target has no information on it. There are places for the tester to indicate the caliber, serial number, tester's name and a space for date but the tester failed to fill any of it out.
