Laurier's Faculty of Education is shaping the future of the profession by connecting research, scholarship and creative activity with communities. We aim to foster collaborative inquiry and research opportunities in education, and support faculty-led research projects in partner schools and with other education communities, both locally and globally. We also seek opportunities for research training for students and faculty, and encourage critical research discourse among colleagues. Our programs integrate collaborative inquiry and research opportunities for students, staff and faculty members within an innovative and inclusive research culture. Mental Health Skills for Educators micro-credentials for educators and support staff to gain much needed skills supporting students experiencing mental health challenges. Our courses blend knowledge, skills, and global competencies that focus on the diverse needs of children and youth. You will have four block practicum placements in schools, in addition to weekly practicum days. All of our practicum placements are in select Partner School Boards, strategically located to allow our teacher candidates to attend classes at Laurier and be involved in their placement schools as described above.

With shared leadership, we can develop differentiated approaches to address educational challenges and to foster thriving, sustainable learning communities.
