Defeating it causes an Astral Infection meteor to fall somewhere in the world. After defeating the Moon Lord , Astrum Aureus increases substantially in difficulty, with boosted health and damage, and drops a new mount. Astrum Aureus does not spawn on its own and must be summoned by gathering the Famine Slime , Pestilent Slime , War Slime , and Death Slime within a 10 block radius of the player. Once all four are close enough, the slimes will explode and Astrum Aureus will slam downwards. When first summoned, Astrum Aureus will be in its recharging phase, indicated by the lack of astral flames. While recharging, Astrum Aureus deals no contact damage and has no defense. After several seconds, its flames will ignite and it will begin to attack the player, cycling through a specific attack pattern before re-entering its recharging phase and repeating the attack cycle. The time it spends in its recharging phase decreases as its life decreases.
